According to the statement, the coup attempt, which occurred on September 26, 2023, aimed to attack the foundations of Burkina Faso and cast the nation into chaos.

It was an audacious act that could not go unchallenged.
In the wake of this revelation, swift action was taken.
Four officers and other individuals involved in this destabilizing scheme found themselves in custody.
While two are suspected to be on the run.

This coup endeavor comes on the heels of the recent arrest of three soldiers for plotting against the military government led by Captain Ibrahim Traore.
Traore assumed power in September 2022, following a previous coup that ousted the democratically elected President Roch Marc Kabore.

Responding to Traore supporters’ call to “defend” their leader amidst swirling rumors of another coup circulating on social media.
The military government pledged to unveil every detail of this sinister plot.
It also expressed deep regret that officers, entrusted with the solemn duty of defending their homeland, had strayed into such treacherous territory.
