Busia: Family seeks help to bring back body of their daughter who died in Saudi Arabia

A family in Koruruma village, Teso North, Busia County is appealing to the government and well-wishers to help them bring back the remains of their daughter who died three months ago in Saudi Arabia.

According to the father of the deceased James Epurati, their daughter went overseas to seek greener pastures to elevate them from the poverty situation until recently when they were informed that their daughter was dead.

“My daughter went to Saudi Arabia to look for  a job, and she has been working there for about six years. She died on December 18, 2024 and up to today we have not managed to bring her body here for burial,” said Epurati.

He appealed to Prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi and President William Ruto to intervene in the matter and help the family in ensuring the body is brought back home for burial.

“I am a poor man with no job, I have nothing but am appealing to the government and well wishers to help me bury my daughter here,” he added.

Through the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the family was asked to raise half a million shillings to facilitate the transportation of their daughter’s body back to Kenya, something the family can’t afford.

Friends and neighbours are now appealing to leaders including President Ruto and other elected leaders to help them raise Ksh500,000 to bring their daughter back and give her a decent send off.
