KCB appoints Joseph Kinyua as non-executive director

The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group Plc. has appointed Dr. Joseph Kinyua to its board of directors.

Dr. Kinyua's appointment, according to a statement from the group company secretary Bonnie Okumu, was effective from 24th March 2023.

Dr. Kinyua is the immediate former Head of Public Service, boasting of an illustrious career spanning over 44 years in public service and a wealth of experience in public administration.

"He is credited with effectively holding a pivotal role in implementing key government initiatives and reforms including the liberalisation of the banking sector, the foreign exchange market and the trade and capital accounts of the balance of payments among other initiatives," the statement from KCB Group Plc. reads.

Prior to his appointment as the Head of Public Service in 2013, Dr. Kinyua has served in various senior positions in the government, including as Permanent Secretary to the National Treasury.
