CAFWCLQ: Kenya’s Police Bullets set for final showdown with CBE Ethiopia

Kenyans everywhere will be cheering on the Police Bullets as they seek a chance to represent the region in the CAF Women’s Champions League. The team will face hosts CBE Ethiopia in the qualifiers final.

Kenya’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, George Morara Orina, paid a courtesy visit to the Police Bullets to provide much-needed support ahead of this crucial match.

The Police Bullets FC’s remarkable journey from underdogs to CECAFA finalists has ignited the passion of football fans across East Africa, demonstrating their resilience and determination.

Team captain Lydia Waganda expressed confidence in their chances, emphasizing the need to exploit the flanks, control the midfield, launch sharper attacks, and defend rigorously. “We will leave nothing to chance during today’s finals. The morale is high among the players, and we are keen on leaving a mark at this tournament,” said Waganda.

Over the past two weeks, Ambassador Orina has rallied his support for the team, offering them a captivating Ethiopian cultural immersion as they prepare for this significant moment.

“You have made our country very proud. As you gear up for this crucial game, let your dreams shine brightly. May you fly the Kenyan flag high and bring the trophy back home,” Ambassador Orina said.

The diplomat, who has been a constant supporter both on and off the pitch, praised the team for their impressive form throughout the tournament.

Carol Kiambi, Vice Chair of the Kenya Police Board of Trustees, and Police Bullets FC head coach Beldine Odemba acknowledged the immense support from the Kenyan consulate, which has made their stay in Ethiopia smooth.

“As the Police Bullets family, we deeply appreciate your support. The team is not just ready but eager for the finals, fueled by your encouragement and the unique Ethiopian experience,” Kiambi said.

Coach Odemba briefed the Ambassador on their preparations and was delighted by his encouraging presence and interaction with the technical and training units.
