CAFWCLQ: Police Bullets play final group match hoping for a semi-final spot

This afternoon, Kenya Police Bullets are set to face CBE of Ethiopia in a decisive final Group B match, with a spot in the semifinals of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Region qualifier on the line.

The Police Bullets are currently in second place in the group, with four points earned from a draw and a win. Their campaign began with a 0-0 draw against Yei Joint Stars, followed by a victory over Rayon Sports Women FC. On the other hand, CBE have already secured their place in the semifinals, having defeated Rayon 3-2 and dominated Yei Joint Stars with a 4-0 win.

To progress as group runners-up, the Bullets need to avoid a heavy defeat against CBE. A victory would see them top the group, potentially steering clear of a semifinal clash with the likely Group A leaders, the Simba Queens, who are bolstered by Kenyan talent.

The Police Bullets hold a goal difference of +1, while Yei Joint Stars, the only team capable of overtaking them, have a goal difference of -4. For Yei Joint Stars to match the Bullets’ goal difference, they would need to score at least five goals against Rayon Sports or hope for a significant loss by the Police Bullets.

The match kicks off at 2 PM at the Addis Ababa Stadium, with the Police Bullets aiming to secure their place in the semifinals and continue their quest for regional glory.
