Cape Media Limited and Kenya Forest Service have entered into a framework of engagement that will see the two entities partner in environmental conservation and advocacy.
The partnership which was signed by Cape Media CEO Mwenda Njoka and Kenya Forest Service Chief Conservator of forests Alex Lemarkoko, entails the two entities work hand in hand where Cape Media will broadcast through its platforms that include TV47, Radio 47 and TV47 digital on environmental conservation reporting and initiatives.
Cape Media CEO Mwenda Njoka expressed optimism in this partnership noting that it will go a long way in ensuring that the company also gives back to community through environmental conservation reporting and advocacy.
Chief Conservator of Forests at the Kenya Forest Services Alex Lemarkoko has lauded the move noting it a first of its kind.
Lemarkoko added that this initiative will go a long way in ensuring the public is well informed and educated through environmental conservation reporting considering this is an initiative that has been ignored.
He called on the need for engagements at all levels of society in a bid to achieve the Kenyan government’s ambitious initiative to plant 15 billion trees by 2032 aiming to combat climate change.
The event was also graced by Mt Kenya University fraternity and the ministry of environment representatives.
