Kenya Men’s rugby sevens national team, Shujaa suffered a 14-07 defeat against Spain in their second pool phase match in the ongoing Cape town sevens in South Africa.
The loss came after managing a comeback to win 19-12 their first match against Australia.
In the Shujaa’s second match, Francisco Cosculluela drew first blood for Spain with the conversion sailing through for a 07-00 lead.
Speedstar Patrick Odongo managed to score the first try for Kenya with Nygel Amaitsa adding the extras bringing the scores level at 07-07.

Shujaa will now wait the for the last Pool B clash between Spain and Australia at 6.57 PM(EAT) to determine their semis chances as the World rugby announced a change to the HSBC SVNS 2025 format used in Dubai and last season where now the four pool winners will progress to the Cup semi-finals. The second placed teams will enter the 5th-8th place playoffs and the third placed teams go into the 9th-12th place playoffs.
