The National Men’s rugby sevens national team, Shujaa will face off with Argentina in the 5th place semi-final tomorrow Sunday 8 December, 2024 in the ongoing Cape town sevens in South Africa.

The match is scheduled to be played at 12.22 pm East African time and this after Shujaa finishing second in Pool B with four points after registering a 19-12 win over Australia and a 14-07 loss to Spain in the pool phase matches.

Spain finished top with six points while Australia found themselves at the bottom with two points and according the new format announced by the World Rugby four pool winners progress to the Cup semi-finals.

The second placed teams enter the 5th-8th place playoffs and the third placed teams go into the 9th-12th place playoffs.

Shujaa will aim for positive results in order to settle in a better position in the overall rankings having finished 10th in the first round- Dubai sevens last weekend where dropped to the ranking playoff matches and defeated Ireland 21-7 before losing to Uruguay in the ninth-place finals.
