It is now emerging that the conductor of a Forward Travellers Sacco bus which overturned along Jogoo Road Saturday morning died on the spot.
According to a report from Base Commander Buruburu, the accident occurred around 8:45am.
The Mitsubishi bus under registration KCW 072E was reportedly heading towards city centre from Donholm, when the driver made an abrupt right turn near Rabai junction.
As a result, the vehicle overturned towards the left, killing the conductor on the spot as the vehicle fell on him.
Four passengers survived with serious injuries while 17 others escaped with minor injuries. The victims were rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment.
The deceased’s body was transferred to City Mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
