A two-week Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) program concluded on Friday, February 28 at Bureti National Polytechnic, bringing together trainers from various institutions to strengthen technical education in the region.
The training, facilitated by CICAN, focused on equipping trainers with essential skills to implement competency-based learning effectively.

A total of 84 trainers participated, including 61 from Bureti National Polytechnic, 22 from Belgut Technical Training Institute, and one from Elkuron National Polytechnic.
During the closing ceremony at Kericho Polytechnic in Bureti, Kericho, Sammy Cheruyot, head of Kericho National Polytechnic, emphasized the significance of the training.

“This program enhances institutional performance and ensures learners acquire practical skills that prepare them for the job market,” he said.
Bureti National Polytechnic was selected as the host institution due to its role in technical and vocational education.
The training aligns with national and global standards, aiming to improve the quality of technical education.With this initiative setting a precedent for future capacity-building programs, Bureti National Polytechnic continues to strengthen its position as a key institution in advancing technical skills training.
