Arsenal will contend for the Premier League title this season, this is according to Cesc Fabregas who says that Chelsea will enter the competition in the next season.
Last season, the Gunners ended just five points behind Manchester City for the league’s top spot.
Arsenal and Chelsea have spent the most money on new players so far this summer than any other English Premier League side.
Mauricio Pochettino and Mikel Arteta have both been keen to improve their midfield options.
Chelsea have significantly financed Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia, and Moises Caicedo,
Arsenal on the other hand have welcomed Declan Rice and Kai Havertz to the Emirates Stadium.
In an interview, Fabregas highlighted Rice as a crucial component in Arsenal’s title.
“Arsenal will compete for the title again; they are stronger than last season.
“Declan Rice is fantastic. His personality brings a new dimension to the team, and he doesn’t really need too much time to adapt because he is so smart. He could be a big leader for Arsenal.”
Fabregas further claimed that Mauricio Pochettino would need time to build his youthful team even though Chelsea is on the “right track to success”
“I can see what they are trying to do. A young, dynamic, powerful team.
“The players they have signed are top quality. It is about putting them together and letting them grow. For example, Enzo Fernandez has had some time to adapt, and Moises Caicedo is a top player.
“He is strong and with quality, having been coached by a top manager like Roberto De Zerbi. Maybe not this year, but from next year they will be ready to compete,” said Fabregas
As it stands in the English Premier League title race Title defenders Manchester City are at the summit with 9 points.
