Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz left his fans disappointed at the Furaha City event held on Saturday, December 7, at the Nairobi Polo Club Grounds.

What was meant to be a thrilling night of music featuring top Kenyan and Tanzanian stars turned chaotic, leaving fans chanting in frustration.

The highly anticipated event brought together celebrated artistes, including Zuchu, Rayvanny, Willy Paul, and Khaligraph Jones.

Despite the stellar lineup, the night took a sour turn when Diamond’s appearance was abruptly cut short amidst chants of “Willy Paul!” from the crowd.

According to a source privy to the situation, a dispute between Diamond’s management and the event organisers disrupted the night.

The “Mawazo” hitmaker, scheduled as the headlining act, reportedly insisted on performing earlier than planned.

“Diamond was supposed to perform last, but his team objected. They demanded he go on stage before Willy Paul, which created a standoff,” the insider revealed.

The audience, who had paid between KSh 4,000 for regular tickets and KSh 25,000 for VVIP access, eagerly waited for Diamond’s show-stopping performance.

Instead, chaos ensued when the star briefly appeared on stage but failed to perform, sparking outrage among the crowd.

A video circulating online captured the heated moment when fans voiced their displeasure by chanting Willy Paul’s name, effectively halting the event.

Willy Paul claimed that Tanzanian artistes were being given priority while Kenyan colleagues were being disrespected.

“Tanzanian artiste are being given priority at this event. This is sad. Why are Kenyans being disrespected in front of Bongo musicians?” Pozze wrote.

Captioning the note, he claimed: “I’m being mistreated at the event. Wanaweka Tanzanians waperform. Wanachange vitu last minute. Why are Kenyans allowing this?”

As of this writing, Diamond Platnumz has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Fans are left wondering what went wrong behind the scenes, as the night that promised harmony between Kenyan and Tanzanian music ended on a discordant note.

For now, the silence from Diamond’s camp leaves fans yearning for answers.
