OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT, has unveiled new features.
The new features unveiled will allow users to engage in voice conversations with the AI.
This update enables users to have entire conversations with ChatGPT, opening up possibilities of what the feature can be.
With rich access to information, ChatGPT can be an authenticating source to settle any question anyone might have.

ChatGPT new features
The new voice capabilities of ChatGPT may come off similar to those offered by voice assistants like Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri.
During a demonstration of the update, a user asks ChatGPT to create a story about a character.
Nonetheless, the chatbot not only narrated the story with a human-like voice but also responded to questions about the character’s backstory.
OpenAI’s voice feature is powered by a new text-to-speech model, capable of generating lifelike audio from text input.
However, this feature is enabled by adding a short voice sample. Open AI worked with professional voice actors to develop five unique voices for animating the chatbot.
Additionally, OpenAI is bringing a feature that enables the chatbot to respond to prompts containing images.
To illustrate, users can take a picture of the contents of their fridge and ask ChatGPT to help plan meals with those ingredients.
In addition, the company also mentioned a “drawing tool” that allows users to ask the chatbot to focus on specific parts of an image.
How to access new features
However, these new features will be available in the ChatGPT app for paying users of the Plus and Enterprise services.
The features will roll out within the next two weeks. The Plus subscription is priced at almost KSh 3000.
Nevertheless, the Enterprise service is offered only to business clients.
OpenAI’s updates come amidst a competitive AI landscape, with tech giants racing to integrate AI-powered tools into their core products.
Google recently announced updates to its ChatGPT competitor, Bard, to be able to access one mail and suggest human-like responses.
Recently, Amazon introduced a generative AI-powered update for its Alexa voice assistant.
In brief, OpenAI seems to be edging its competitors on rolling more humanlike features.
