Popular OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT has been experiencing intermittent outages since Tuesday morning affecting users globally.
Reports of issues began surfacing around 9:30 AM EAT on June 4th, 2024. Downdetector indicates significant spikes in outage reports, with the US and UK being particularly affected.
Users are encountering problems across various platforms, including the ChatGPT web version, mobile app, and even the new Mac app.
Attempts to use the service result in either unresponsiveness or error messages like “internal server error” on the mobile app.
OpenAI has acknowledged the outage on their status page, stating that “ChatGPT is unavailable for some users” and that they are “currently investigating the issue.” However, there’s no official word yet on the cause of the outage or an estimated time for resolution.
