Chelsea’s captain Recce James handed a one-game ban by FA

Chelsea captain Recce James has been fined  £90,000 and handed a one match ban over misconduct by the Football Association.

This comes a the back of the defender’s insulting and abusive language towards match officials in the tunnel after his side lost to 1-0 Aston Villa in September.

James has not appeared for Chelsea in the last eight matches after suffering a hamstring and he also did not appear for his side in the Aston Villa clash.

The 23-year-old will miss out on the Burnley clash regardless of his fitness status. He has admitted to the wrongdoing and FA charged him on Wednesday for aiming improper/insulting or abusive words towards referee Jarred Gillet or one of his assistants.

Chelsea were reduced to 10 men during the Aston Villa clash after Malo Gusto was sent off in the 58th Minutes.

The French man made an illegal tackle on Lucas Digne and was shown a yellow, However Jarred Gillett the match official upgraded it to a red card following a VAR review.

Under the new manager  Mauricio Pochettino Chelsea has only won two out of the seven matches played and is ranked 11th in the English Premier League table.
