Chief Protus Wechuli, known for the ‘Misheveve’ meme, has retired from public service. The ‘Misheveve’ chief graced his retirement ceremony held in Saboti constituency, Trans Nzoia County on Saturday April 5, 2025.
Wechuli was well known for his humor while performing his administrative duties as a chief in Saboti location. This was after his videos circulated on social media, showing his warm relationship with residents.
He was given the nickname, after he hilariously narrated how a son killed his mother after a tiff over ‘misheseve’, the type of vegetable he was cooking.
During the ceremony, he officially laid down his instruments of work in honor of his retirement.
“Nilirudisha stapler, uniform, fimbo ya serikali ikanibakishia suruali peke yake ndio hii,” he said.
“Misheveve ni very economical, inaiva haraka kuliko Sarat. Na misheveve inatembelea chini. Unaweza kufanyia usherati kwa misheveve kweli?”
At the same time, he recounted how his journey to becoming a chief was not easy, saying that he tried for several years until he finally got the position.
According to him, he loved his job and served for 18 years.
Political leaders including DAP Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa and other administrative heads present during the event praised Wechuli as a hardworking servant of the people.
