Celebrated comedian Vincent Mwasia Mutua, popularly known as Chipukeezy, has secured a prestigious role in President William Ruto’s administration.

The comedian, known for his wit and humour, has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Protocol and Events in the Office of the President.

Sharing the news with his fans, an elated Chipukeezy expressed his gratitude to President Ruto for the opportunity to serve.

“Deputy Director, Protocol and Events, Office of the President:

I am truly humbled and ready to serve. When the time is right, God will make it happen. Thank you, His Excellency @williamsamoeiruto 🙏,” he wrote on social media.

The announcement was also confirmed by Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination, who congratulated Chipukeezy on his well-deserved appointment.

From Comedy Stages to State Functions

In his new role, Chipukeezy will oversee protocol management, event planning, communication with government agencies, and diplomatic coordination.

He will be responsible for ensuring that state functions are conducted with the highest level of protocol etiquette, overseeing receptions for foreign dignitaries, and advising government officials on protocol procedures.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in his career, but Chipukeezy is no stranger to public service.

Previously, he served on the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) board under the Uhuru Kenyatta administration.

Born and raised in Tala, Machakos County, Chipukeezy developed his comedic skills early on.

His talent shone through during his school days at Kwatombe Primary, Masii High, and Tala High School, where he was an active member of the drama club.

His journey into entertainment started with local theatre productions, performing set book plays for high schools.

He later joined Heartstrings Theatre, where he performed multiple times as a warm-seat narrator before earning enough money to enroll at the East African School of Media Studies.
