Even catching the attention of Chris Rock.
Pinkett Smith opened up about it, sharing, “Every summer, all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce.”
Jada said Chris Rock decided to call her, saying, “I’d love to take you out.”
The unexpected call left Pinkett Smith taken aback, and she questioned Rock, “What do you mean?”
He responded, “Aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?”
She quickly clarified that these were merely rumours, which left Rock appalled.

He profusely apologized, and that was the end of that encounter.
The incident finds its place in Pinkett Smith’s forthcoming memoir, “Worthy.”
Pinkett Smith, reflecting on the 2016 Oscars and the #OscarsSoWhite movement, believes there may have been a misunderstanding between her and Chris Rock.
She now realizes that she might not have fully grasped the pressure Rock was under at the time.

Looking back, she felt she should have reached out to him, saying, “Hey, are you okay?” and expressing her support.

Rock tried to apologize during a break in the ceremony, but Pinkett Smith declined.
She believed it was a matter best left for Will Smith and Chris Rock to discuss.
