A church service in Kawangware, Nairobi was cut shortly after a section of the members stormed out after the bishop demanded them to buy him a Landcruiser Prado.
The event that took place on Sunday 10th December did not please the congregation at all.
According to a report by Kenyans.co.ke, Angry members chanted and held placards outside the church stating ‘Bishop must go.’
Reason for demonstrating
The bishop expressed his disappointments to the congregation for not being able to raise funds to buy him the Prado.
He also stated that he was embarrassed when he met with other Pastors who drove better cars than him.
“He had said that he needed a car because he was often left embarrassed during meetings when other bishops had luxurious cars,” said James Gichuhi, the church’s finance manager.

Despite the members stating their financial difficulties, the bishop went ahead saying they had refused to buy him the car after fundraising a few millions to buy a school bus.
They also claimed that the Bishop would once in a while attack church leaders in his preaching.
One of them who was an interpreter expressed his difficulties in translating as he said most statements were directed to some individuals of the church.

In a similar occasion, Pastor James Ng’ang’a from the Neno Evangelism Church criticized a believer who gave him a 500 Kenyan shillings offering while requesting prayers for his family.
According to Pastor Ng’ang’a, this amount is too small for him to make prayers and cannot even fuel his car.
He urged those who cannot remove a decent amount to seek fellowship elsewhere.
