State and non state actors advocating for the promotion of justice and human rights now say that citizens are the biggest hindrance to securing watertight cases.
The stakeholders say that members of the public have played a part in prosecution coming up with weak cases in courts due to late reporting and interference to scenes of crime.
Speaking during a sensitisation forum in Runyenjes Town, Embu County, the actors noted that timely reporting and willingness to give evidence will help police win cases in court.
The actors also opined that there is need to cultivate a good relationship between the Nyumba Kumi initiatives and the police officers to ensure good communication between different actors.
Officers from the International Justice Mission (IJM) opined that the sensitisation forum is geared towards strengthening the criminal justice mission by ensuring victims receive justice and in a timely manner.
