A pastor in Nigeria has set tongues wagging after he warned people against collecting money from their senior pastors.
In a viral video, Salvation Ministries televangelist David Ibiyeomie is heard advising his congregation never to collect money from a “senior man of God”, and that doing so has negative repercussions.
“May I tell you one raw truth? It may be hard, but never collect money from a senior man of God. You are reducing your blessing.
“I’ll be the last person to collect a dime from [David Olaniyi Oyedepo – another preacher], not because challenges have not come. That’s not how it works,” he says.
Instead, Pastor Ibiyeomie advises… “I can sow to a senior man. There are senior men to me today. But I will not go and say, ‘Pastor Femi, can you please help me?’ It’s not scriptural.”
He adds: “Don’t collect money from a senior man; you are reducing your prosperity. Sow into the senior man to draw virtue for the next level.”
