Comedian and activist Eric Omondi was on Tuesday, June 21 arrested while leading anti-Finance Bill, 2024 protests outside Parliament Buildings.
In a video circulating on social media, Omondi was seen riding a horse, accompanied by a few other protesters donning red clothes. The group was chanting slogans, including “Power to the people.”
However, the protest was cut short when police officers intervened and detained the comedian.
This is not the first time Omondi has been arrested for his activism. In February 2023, he was arrested during protests against the high cost of living outside Parliament Buildings. He has been vocal about his opposition to the government’s policies and has used his platform to raise awareness about various social and economic issues.
