Comedian Jasper Murume confirms he dated the late Gatwiri

Kenyan comedian Jasper, known for his humour on The Churchill Show, poured out his grief during the memorial for Tabitha Gatwiri, held at Blue Springs Hotel, Thika.

Surrounded by mourners, he shared that Gatwiri’s sudden passing felt like a nightmare he desperately wished he could escape.

Addressing the crowd with raw emotion, Jasper reflected,

“It feels like waking from a terrible dream, one you wish to shake off and rebuke because you don’t want it to be real… Gatwiri has chosen to leave us.”

Jasper spoke candidly about the special bond he and Gatwiri shared since meeting in 2018, describing how their partnership blossomed both personally and professionally.

Though they dated for a time before parting ways amicably, the two continued to create together, often delighting fans with humorous skits as an on-screen couple.

However, at the time of her passing, Jasper clarified, they had moved on romantically and remained as dedicated business partners with strong professional respect.

“She was my girlfriend, but I’m now married with a child.

After the breakup, our relationship changed, but we worked together as professionals,” he explained.

“There was a love-hate relationship sometimes, but we maintained clear boundaries.”

Jasper expressed deep sorrow over her sudden death, adding that it has left him disoriented.

The grief, he shared, has shaken him to his core as he grapples with the loss of a close friend and creative collaborator.

In closing, he offered heartfelt condolences to Gatwiri’s family and acknowledged the profound impact she had on his life and career.
