Ugandan comedienne Anne Kansiime has ignited discussions after revealing that she once took matters into her own hands and paid her own dowry.

The mother of one shared that she made the unconventional decision to ease the burden on her late father, who frequently questioned when she would settle down.

Speaking in an interview with Uganda’s NRG Radio, she explained that at the time, she was financially stable and saw no harm in handling it herself.

“I was tired of my father asking me to remind the man I was with.

At that point, I was making a lot of money and had even started a business.

So, I thought, ‘I can give Daddy this money so we stop talking about it.’

I kept reminding my partner to pay, and when he finally gave me the money, I paid it myself.

After that, I stopped pestering him, and he never brought it up again. But I am not there anymore,” she shared.

Despite the unusual decision, Kansiime remains unapologetic.

“Yes, I did it. Do I regret it? I don’t think I regret anything that has happened to me before.

It’s because of those experiences that I am here today, and now we have a story to tell.

Also, it’s pointless to regret things that have already happened because it changes nothing,” she said.

Breakup Rumours with Skylanta Spark Online Buzz

In recent weeks, speculation about Kansiime’s relationship with her husband, musician Skylanta, has been circulating on social media.

Fans began suspecting a split after the comedienne shared cryptic messages hinting at a new chapter in her life.

One particular post fueled the rumors, as she wrote:

“One day, somebody you sacrificed so much for will turn around and say they never asked for it, and it will hurt because they will be right.”

The message led to widespread assumptions about trouble in paradise. However, it later emerged that she was teasing a new project.

Skylanta quickly addressed the rumours, dismissing claims of a breakup and urging fans not to jump to conclusions.

“I came back online and found a lot of fire. Fire on the mountain! So, I’ve been trying to get some water to cool things down,” he joked.

He further clarified, “When we started this, none of you were there.

Somehow, it ended up here, but none of you were there.

Between Anne and me, we know how to handle whatever is happening.

She’s happy, and I’m happy. I don’t see why some of you are abusing me.”

For now, the couple remains tight-lipped, leaving fans guessing about the true state of their relationship.
