A 23-year-old construction worker has died by suicide for allegedly failing to get rich.
On August 14, 2023, the deceased, identified as Francis Bagumya, fell off the second floor of CK Associates Construction Company where he worked until his demise.
According to a suicide note left behind, Bagumya said he could not believe that he was not rich yet at that age and accused his father of failing to assist him attain wealth.
Police Spokesperson Enanga Fred expressed disapproval of the incident, saying the young man would not have resorted to such extreme actions had he acquired mental health support.
“It is devastating to commit suicide because of depression, frustration, and anger,
“The circumstances that led to the acts of suicide could have been prevented if the victim got help in the form of counseling from counselors or other support groups,” he added.
