Shock as househelp is killed by employer’s dog in Malindi
Roselyn Nafuna was attacked by the dog while doing her house chores in Moriema’s area of Malindi town.

Police in Malindi, Kilifi County, are investigating an incident in which a 39-year-old woman was mauled to death by her employer's dog.
Roselyn Nafuna was attacked while doing her house chores in Moriema’s area of Malindi town on Monday morning.
According to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, she had just opened the door leading to the house' porch when she was attacked by the dog.
She screamed for help, whereupon John Siria, a guard at the home rushed to her rescue. "He restrained the dog, before helping Nafuna who was lying on the floor," says the DCI.
Siria told detectives that Nafuna said she felt fine and would go back to the house by herself. "However, when the day guard Anthony Katana, reported for duty he found the lifeless body of the deceased sprawled on the floor."
Malindi-based detectives who arrived at the scene established that the deceased’s body had multiple wounds occasioned by the South African Boerboel's bites.
The dog breed, notes DCI, is famed for its well developed muscles and a strong bone structure.
"Investigations into the unfortunate incident have since been launched," adds the sleuths.
Nafuna's body was taken to the Star Hospital mortuary, awaiting post mortem.
