Man, 26, travels from Ndeiya to Rongai, allegedly stabs estranged wife to death

The couple were neighbours in Ndiuni village and got married last year after Njambi graduated from college.

However, Njambi separated from her husband after their marriage started having troubles and moved to Rongai where she worked as an accountant in a supermarket before her untimely demise.

Arrest of murder suspect

The text messages and Facebook post prompted the police to launch a manhunt for the suspect who had switched off his phone.

Officers from Ndeiya Police Station and Ndiuni Police Post were alerted that Mbugua had been seen trying to sneak into his compound.

The police managed to trap him and stormed into the house, arresting Mbugua and taking him to Tigoni Police Station.

He was later moved to Rongai Police Station, awaiting to be arraigned.
