Gideon Moi humiliated in Baringo senatorial race

Gideon Moi has lost the Baringo County Senatorial seat.

 

The two-term senator running on a KANU Party ticket lost the seat to UDA's William Cheptumo in the just concluded August 9 2022 General Election.

 

Moi garnered 71,480 votes against Cheptumo’s 141,777.

 

In the governor race, Baringo's first Governor Benjamin Cheboi of UDA recaptured his seat after beating the incumbent Stanley Kiptis who was defending the seat as an independent candidate.

 

Cheboi got 137,486 votes while Moses Lessonet garnered 60,879. Kiptis came a distant third with 17,646.
