Nairobi businessman shot dead at his gate in Limuru

Police in Ndeiya sub-County, Limuru, are investigating an incident where a middle-aged man was shot dead outside his gate in Ng'amba village on Wednesday morning.

Daniel Muchiri, 40, a spa businessperson in Nairobi, was reportedly confronted by two men - as seen on the CCTV installed on his gate - at around 1 am and shot three times before they escaped with a waiting vehicle.

Confirming the incident, Ndeiya sub-County Police Commander Mary Mnyolmo said the police visited the scene of crime and investigations have started. A forensic scrutiny of the footage will be carried out to try and identify the culprits.

Isaiah Githaiga, an uncle of the victim, said they heard a confrontation followed by three gunshots. When the family came out to ascertain what was happening, they found Muchiri lying unconsciously inside his car.

They rushed him to Kikuyu Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
