Kiambu: Preparing inmates for an entrepreneurial life after prison

The Kenya Prisons Service working in partnership with a local organisation is on a mission to provide skills to inmates that'd enable them enjoy entrepreneurial success post-incarceration.
The initiative with Jamii Products is also playing a role in rehabilitating the prisoners, says director Charles Kimani.
Speaking at Kiambu GK Prison where his organisation has been training inmates on how to make khaki bags, Kimani said he has witnessed enormous potential and talent. He said his goal is to empower the inmates to harness this potential so that they become self reliance once they are released from prison.
On their part, the inmates acknowledged the impact of the training, saying it will help them to venture onto different paths once they leave prison.
