Police officers in Kakamega have arrested three suspects believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorising residents of the town.

The three were arrested in Mukumu village by officers from Khayega Police Station, who were acting on information from members of public.

The officers conducted a search in the house of the suspects and recovered one pistol loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition, three lap tops, five smart phones and one large smart TV.

"Others include one chips deep frying machines, one complete home theatre, one gas cooker and three travelling bags containing clothes all suspected to have been stolen from members of public," says a police report.

The suspects are in police custody awaiting processing and arraignment.

This arrests come just a day after 14 suspects linked with the notorious "Mbogi La Izraim Territory" gang that has been terrorizing Kakamega residents were arrested.

Police say the gang has been stealing nothing from its targets, besides the heinous attacks that left them either dead or mutilated.

"We thank members of the public for their continued support in the fight again crime," says the National Police Service.
