The Enziu Bridge has been the talk of the country ever since it claimed more than 30 church members from Mwingi who were traveling to attend a wedding at Nuu. The river has been claiming more lives every rainy season, pushing the government to start the construction of a permanent bridge to end the menace.

Maurice Onyango - the lead engineer of the KIU Construction Limited which won the contract to construct the bridge - says that they are almost done with the foundation works and soon they would be completing the pillars of the bridge.

Mwingi Central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi, who toured the construction site on Saturday, February 18, urged President William Ruto to continue releasing funds for the bridge in order to end unwarranted deaths which have been happening at the site every rainy season.

Mulyungi said that on his assessment, the bridge is about 50% complete as most of the foundation works have been done.

Nuu Ward MCA Judith Wanza who had accompanied MP Mulyungi at the site urged all local elected leaders to join hands and push for the completion of the bridge since the electioneering period is over.
