    Migori County residents have held their first anti-government demonstrations as called by Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition, protesting the high cost of living Kenyans are currently grappling with.

    The residents peacefully marched to the Migori County Commissioner’s office to present their aggrievance.

    Top of their grievances were issues of security, bad governance and the skyrocketing prices of basic commodities such as unga. They want the President William Ruto-led government to address these issues.

    Migori County Deputy Commissioner Benson Karani, while receiving the petition, urged the residents to refrain from violence and embrace peace to safeguard the unity and harmony that has existed in the county.

    He said that it was a democratic right for residents to picket and noted that their concerns have been received and will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
