There was shock and drama at the Machakos Law Courts on Wednesday, March 15 afternoon after a woman called to testify in a case started bleating like a goat.
It all started when the Mary Mukulu Mbithi, a suspect in the murder of her child, arrived at the court's precincts, ready for the mention of the case.
She was supposed to take the stands and testify in the case. But no sooner had the case began than the she started making sounds of a goat.
Warrant of arrest
Unbeknownst to Judge Margaret Muigai, she went on to issue an arrest warrant against the Mbithi as she did not show up in court.
The judge later lifted the warrant after the happenings outside the court room were brought to her attention.
According to court documents, Mbithi - who hails from Mbee village in Kathiani Sub-County - is accused of strangling her daughter to death on 20th January 2022.
The case was rescheduled to April 27, 2023.
