"Revival of Nzoia Sugar top of President Ruto's agenda" - MP John Makali

The revival of Nzoia Sugar Company is among the projects that are top on the agenda of Kenya Kwanza Government, this is according to Kanduyi MP John Makali.
MP Makali says that during the making of the supplementary budget, he successfully lobbied fellow Members of Parliament to push for the allocation of KSh500 million towards reviving Nzoia Sugar.
"The money will be out soon; it is meant to settle farmers dues, maintenance of the company and other urgent issues," Makali says, adding that "We are also pushing for KSh3 billion in the main financial budget to turnaround Nzoia Sugar."

Nzoia Sugar new board
President William Ruto in February appointed former Kanduyi MP Alfred Khang’ati as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Nzoia Sugar Company.
Khang’ati will serve at the Nzoia Sugar Company board for a period of 3 years. Members of the new board include Boniface Otsiula, Millicent Abudho and Elizabeth Iminza.
MP Makali says that the appointment of the new board is a giant step towards revival of the ailing sugar miller.
