Court clears DJ Joe Mfalme of all charges over death of DCI officer

A court has cleared Joseph Mwendwa popularly known as DJ Joe Mfalme of all charges concerning the death of the DCI officer.

This was during a court ruling on Monday April 8, 2024 at the Kibera Law court.

DJ Joe Mfalme and his co-accused were arraigned in court after being detained for 14 days as police continued with investigations into the matter.

Dj Joe Mfalme was arraigned alongside Allan Ochieng, Eric Gathua, Simon Wanjiru, officers Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Rotich and Agnes Mogoi.

After 14 days of investigations, the Director of Public Prosecution Renson Mulele has recommended that Dj Joe Mfalme and 5 other co-accused be utilized as state witnesses.

They were being accused of assaulting a DCI officer Felix Kelian based at Kabete Police.

On March 16, DJ Mfalme and his team were returning home in Kikuyu when they encountered a minor accident.

Fredrick Kosen, a police officer attached to DCI Dagoretti, stated that after the collision, a confrontation erupted which resulted in the deceased being assaulted by Allan, Eric, Simon, and DJ Joe.

Later, news about Joe and his team being arrested went viral on March 23, as details emerged that the DJ and his team allegedly roughed up Kabete DCIO Felix Kelian, who later died.

However, the DPP has further recommended that the 1st accused Allan Ochieng be charged with murder of the late Senior Cop that was attached to DCI Dagoretti.

The DPP has recommended Allan Ochieng to take a plea at Kiambu Law Court and be charged with murder.
