A magistrate court has acquitted former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko in the Ksh.357 million corruption case.
At the same time, the court acquitted 16 other suspects linked to the Ksh357 million case.
While making the ruling on Wednesday February 7, 2024 at the Milimani Law Court in Nairobi, Magistrate Eunice Nyutu said there was no sufficient evidence to warrant the conviction of Sonko and other accused persons.
“The evidence is inadequate to sustain the charges leveled against the accused persons,” she ruled.
The Magistrate also noted that the prosecution failed to present all the 38 witnesses that were listed in the case.
