JSS: Grade 7 pupils allowed to use uniforms they wore in Grade 6

The Ministry of Education has directed that all KPSEA candidates joining Junior Secondary School JSS will remain domiciled in their parent primary schools and put on the same uniform they had from Grades 1-6.

The directives come at the back of concerns from parents that some Junior Secondary schools are asking for money from parents in the pretense that they need to expand infrastructure for accommodating Grade 8 students and money for Grade 7 uniforms.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has also stated that, the ministry has credited institutions bank accounts with the 7.6 Billion Shillings released last week by the government.

Therefore Schools must desist from from asking parents to construct new classroom for the Current Grade 8 Candidate.

Also the Government plans to spend ksh 12.8 Billion to facilitate construction of 15,015 classrooms for JSS over the next one year.

Meanwhile Grade 7 learner Utilize the classrooms that were used by the current Grade 8 learners in 2023.

The Current Grade 8 learner are to use classrooms left by the last class 8 in the 8-4-4 system that sat for KCPE.

As recommended by the Presidential Working party the JSS will be domiciled the primary schools.
