A video of a pupil trying to block the sun from getting to education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has elicited mixed reaction and at the same gone viral prompting the CS to respond.
In the video posted on all social media platform the young boy in his school uniform is seen holding up an umbrella behind the the CS just like an Aide-de camp would and this saw many online user blast the Cabinet Secretary.
Speaking on Wednesday when the KCB Foundation provided scholarships to underprivileged learners, CS Machogu highlighted that the boy voluntarily chose to stand by him, further emphasizing that the young learner wanted an audience with him.
“Nilienda pahali pengine mtoto wanted to get the attention of the CS. Ukiona mtoto amekuja na mwavuli, huyo mtoto alikuwa anataka school fees, uniform na shoes. When you go to places as a public figure sometimes you get those people wanataka kukufikia,” said Machogu.
He added that the young boy sought him out because he allegedly faced difficulties in settling his school fees and meeting other education-related expenses.
“That small guy insisted to be beside me until I said Okay, here is something for you. Later on, I was able to consult with him, nikamsaidia vile alikuwa anataka because he comes from a background that you and me don’t come from,”
