Nairobi, Kenya – Danco Capital Limited has been awarded a contract by the Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund) to supply, deliver, and install 12,790 smart water meters for the Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) Ltd. The project, funded by the World Bank under the Water and Sanitation Development Project Conditional Liquidity Support Grant (CLSG) II, aims to significantly improve water management in Eldoret.

WaterFund’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Willis Ombai, handed the signed contract to Danco Capital Director, Sachin Dhanani, during the official signing ceremony at the WaterFund offices in Nairobi.

The contract signing ceremony took place at the WaterFund offices in Nairobi, with Danco Capital Director Sachin Dhanani receiving the contract from WaterFund’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Willis Ombai.

The smart meters, manufactured by German company DIEHL Metering, will enhance automation, efficiency, and accuracy in water metering, leading to a reduction in Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and improved service delivery for ELDOWAS customers.

“I congratulate DANCO on being awarded the contract to supply the water meters for ELDOWAS,” said Mr. Ombai. “DANCO emerged as the best suited in terms of understanding the scope of work required and having the capacity to deliver on the project. I request that DANCO ensure the timely supply and installation of water meters, as their products adhere to the high-quality standards and specifications set by WaterFund for the projects we undertake.”

Mr. Dhanani expressed Danco Capital’s commitment to the project. “We have supported water utilities in Eastern Africa through our locally manufactured products and world-class solutions sourced from top global partners like DIEHL,” he stated. “Our partnerships enable us to deliver smart metering solutions that enhance water management and operational efficiency. This project marks a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainable water access and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6, ensuring clean and safe water for all.”
