Daniella Atim breaks her silence: The courageous path to leaving Chameleone

Daniella Atim, the former wife of Ugandan musician Chameleone, recently opened up on social media about her carefully planned path to independence.

Her post, titled “Social media is pretty fake, so here are some real facts about me,” reveals the lengths she went to prepare for a fresh start, leaving behind a life that was, by her account, filled with challenges.

In ten candid truths, Daniella shared the deeply personal steps she took to exit her marriage.

She described emotionally and mentally distancing herself in 2016, even while keeping up appearances for safety.

“It’s dangerous to let them know you are done,” she wrote, explaining the importance of quietly preparing for her departure.

In 2018, after a six-month trip to adjust to her new life, Daniella took her children and left without looking back.

Her journey was far from easy.

She stayed briefly with her brother, only informing him of her departure the morning she left, not wanting anyone to talk her out of it.

She relied on a friend’s support while working odd jobs.

With her youngest child by her side, waiting for legal authorization to work.

Determined to provide a better life for her children.

She worked multiple full-time jobs, leaving her 14-year-old son to care for his siblings when she couldn’t be there.

Their resilience helped them create a community of support that soon felt like family.

In 2021, Daniella proudly became a homeowner and began pursuing justice, pressing charges against individuals and businesses that had wronged her.

Recently, she secured a restraining order against Chameleone and has fully embraced her independence.

Her last revelation marked a significant milestone: she allowed herself to feel love again.

Daniella ended her post with an empowering message to women:

“Dear girl child, I was scared too.

I had no idea what I was doing, but I am so glad I took that leap of faith…my only regret is not having left sooner.”
