DCI arrest man who allegedly abducted, raped before killing two women in Kiambu

DCI detectives have arrested Samuel King’ara Kimani, a suspected serial killer linked to the murder most foul of two young women in Kiambu County.

In a concerted effort and utilising forensic leads, the sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Homicide department arrested the prime suspect from his hideout in Nairobi’s Ngomongo on April 14, 2025.

Kimani is linked to the murders of 22-year-old Rosemary Njeri Ndekei, and 20-year-old Hellen Wambui Ndung’u, murders that shocked not only the locals in Kiambu County but the country at large.

Ndekei’s shocking murder

In the first case, Ndekei went missing on March 17, 2025 at a time when she was heading to Thika town to shop for clothes.

Her disappearance sparked concern, with a missing person’s report filed at Thika Police Station by her boyfriend and relatives.

Tragically, members of the public would discover her lifeless body in a coffee plantation in Karibaribi area on March 18, 2025.

The decomposing body was taken to General Kago Mortuary for identification and autopsy. On March 19, 2025, the body was identified as that of Ndeke by her family, confirming their worst fears.

An autopsy conducted on the body revealed that she died of manual strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head, signs that point to a brutal homicide.

Ndung’u’s murder

In the second case, Ndung’u went missing on March 31, 2025 when the 20-year-old student at Gituamba Vocational Training College was sent by her mother to buy foodstuffs at Ngorongo Trading Centre, Gatundu North.

The following day her body was discovered in a bush, partially covered with soil. The body had no visible injuries, and neighbours identified her as the missing girl.

Utilising forensic leads and the Exchange Principle, the team of detectives trailed and arrested the prime suspect at Dry area of Ngomongo on April 14, 2025.

Preliminary investigations have thus far revealed a chilling pattern: in both cases, the suspect accosted the victims at isolated pathways, thereafter dragging them into the depths of sprawling coffee plantations, where he sexually assaulted them before ruthlessly killing them.

King’ara was arraigned on April 16, 2025, where detectives were granted custodial orders to complete investigations.
