A DNA test that was scheduled to take place on Tuesday January 23 on the head suspected to be of slain JKUAT student Rita Waeni was postponed.
This was to allow the homicide team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to do a forensic analysis on the head.
The head was recovered in Kiambaa Dam, Kiambu county on Sunday January 21.
DCI officers were investigating the matter since Rita Waeni’s mutilated body was found in a bag at a residential apartment in Roysambu, Nairobi on January 14.
Meanwhile, police arrested two Nigerian nationals on Monday January 22 in connection with Waeni’s murder.

The two were arraigned in court on Monday January 22 after being arrested in a rented house in Ndenderu, Kiambu County.
A hatchet, butcher knife and 6 mobile phones were recovered from the two suspects during their time of arrest.
According to the police report, the two Nigerians, William Oyie Opia and Johnbull Asibor were arrested while in possession of items linking them to the murder and other criminal activities.
Apart from the murder charges, they were also charged with being in Kenya illegally.

Meanwhile, the High Court has also allowed the police to detain the two suspects for 8 days as officers continue with investigations.
Preliminary investigations have established that William Ovie Opia bought the hatchet from an online vendor.
