DCI reveals photos of wanted suspects who looted businesses during protests

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has published photographs of wanted suspects believed to have orchestrated illegal activities during the anti-government protests in different parts of the country.

In an announcement issued on X, the DCI released images of the suspects sought by law enforcement for their involvement in unlawful acts during the protests against the finance bill.

The suspects are instructed to present themselves at the nearest police station for further legal proceedings.

The public has been encouraged to provide information on the whereabouts of the individuals anonymously through the hotline hotline number 0800722203 or by calling 999, 911, or 112.

“The Individuals whose images/photos appear below are wanted by the police for their unlawful activities during the anti-finance bill demonstrations. We therefore advise them to report to the nearest police station for further police action,” stated the DCI.

Earlier, the DCI had issued a stern warning to individuals planning to exploit the nationwide anti-government protests as an opportunity for criminal activities.

Although the Gen Z activists initially led the protests with a message of peace towards both law enforcement and businesses, their efforts were undermined by looters who disrupted the demonstrations by stealing from shops and throwing projectiles at police.

Several protesters observed a shift in the atmosphere, noting that unlike earlier demonstrations, the recent ones were tainted by troublemakers who engaged in theft and caused damage to businesses.
