The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday, October 30 dismissed as fake a letter purporting to be summoning Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua.
The letter, which the DCI insists is fake, was summoning Karua to appear before its headquarters along Kiambu Road to shed light on alleged abductions squad run by the state.
The flagged letter had the DCI’s branding and logos, and had been purportedly being signed off by officer J.K. Marete, on behalf of the Director of Criminal Investigations.

Days ago, the DCI invited impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to shed light on allegations he made about two assisnation attempts on his life.
The investigative agency said that Gachagua’s allegations were serious and cannot be taken lightly, therefore the need to substantiate them.
“In light of the seriousness of this matter, we kindly request your presence on October 22 2024 at the DCI Headquarters to formally record your statement to enable prompt and thorough investigations into the matter,” the DCI said.
