DCI offers cash reward for information on Kware killings prime suspect Collins Jumaisi

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has renewed its call for the public’s help to capture the prime suspect in the Kware killings, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha.

The investigative agency says that a “significant cash reward” will be given to anyone who will provide credible information leading to the re-arrest of Jumaisi, who escaped from police custody on August 20, 2024.

“If you have any information regarding Collins Jumaisi Khalusha’s whereabouts, we encourage you to share it confidentially through the anonymous #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203 or reach out to the police through the hotlines 999, 911, and 112,” the DCI says.

The DCI adds: “Additionally, you are welcome to visit any police station within the country. Your support could greatly impact the re-arrest of this wanted suspect.”

Jumaisi was initially arrested in July 2024 after he allegedly confessed to killing 42 women since 2022, before dumping the bodies at Kware dumpsite in Embakasi South, Nairobi County.

His lawyer, however, claimed that Jumaisi had confessed to the murder after being subjected to intense torture by police.

He was due to face murder charges when — in the early hours of a Tuesday, August 20, morning — along with 12 other suspects in custody, broke out of Gigiri Police Station.

They managed to cut through a wire mesh and climb over the perimeter wall to freedom.
