The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a nationwide manhunt for three men believed to be behind the gruesome murder of a British national, Campbell Scott.
The 58-year-old’s partially decomposed body was discovered on February 22, 2025, in Makongo Forest, Makueni Sub-County, just days after he had arrived in Kenya for a business conference.
The three fugitives; Benard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa, also known as Edu, vanished soon after the crime, leaving investigators with more questions than answers.
With the trail running cold, the DCI is now turning to the public for assistance in tracking them down.
A Crime that shocked many
Scott, a businessman from the United Kingdom, had checked into a Nairobi hotel upon arrival. However, investigators suspect that he was lured out before meeting his tragic fate. Preliminary findings suggest he may have been targeted in a premeditated attack.
His remains, found deep in the forest, indicate a violent end, sending shock-waves through both local and international communities.
Authorities are piecing together Scott’s final movements, hoping to uncover how he ended up in Makongo Forest, miles away from where he was last seen. As forensic experts analyze evidence, pressure is mounting to find those responsible.
With the three suspects now in hiding, law enforcement agencies are intensifying efforts to track them down. The DCI has urged anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward, reassuring the public that all tips will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
