Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Dennis Itumbi has dismissed growing speculation of a rift between President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, terming the claims as “baseless lies.”
This comes amid heightened public interest following Kindiki’s noticeable absence from key national events, including the New Year celebrations at Kisii State Lodge.
Addressing this on his X( formerly Twitter) account , Itumbi stated that the relationship between the two leaders remains solid, emphasizing their shared commitment to delivering on their administration’s promises.
“Ati DP Kindiki Kithure was slapped by Farouk. uwongo. ati, there is a fallout; please craft uwongo that lasts.
The president and his deputy are busy implementing the plan. This year, the projects and programmes will speak. 2025, we will point out your lies in real time,” Itumbi wrote.
Rumors of discord began circulating after Deputy President Kindiki was last seen in public on December 17, 2024, at the Baringo Cultural Festival.
His absence from subsequent events, including high-profile meetings and the festive celebrations, has fueled speculation about tensions within the presidency.
Political analysts and commentators have been quick to weigh in, with some suggesting that Kindiki’s low profile could indicate underlying issues.
However, Itumbi dismissed such claims, attributing the deputy president’s absence to routine governmental duties that may not always involve public appearances.
