Details of Trump’s swearing in ceremony

Every four years, President of the United States is inaugurated on 20th of January, regardless of whether they are newly elected or serving a second term.

On January 20th, a series of important events take place as the incoming president is sworn in, symbolising the official transfer of power.

This ceremony is steeped in tradition and features various elements that reflect the unique style of the incoming leader.

The general structure includes the oath of office, inaugural address, parade and celebrations, performances and celebrations, and inaugural balls and celebrations.

Vice President-elect JD Vance will be the first to take his oath of office followed by Trump.

As per tradition, the oath is administered by the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, currently John Roberts.

According to the US Constitution, a new president’s term officially starts at noon on January 20, or the following day if it’s a Sunday.

In recent years, inaugurations have taken place on a large temporary platform set up on the beautiful West Lawn of the Capitol.

However, this year, due to a chilly weather forecast, the ceremony will be held indoors in the Capitol Rotunda.

The new president also gives an inaugural address, outlining his vision for the next four years.

This is the formal pledge to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States”.

Trump will recite the words: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

The oath is one of the most significant moments, signifying that the new president is now fully authorized to begin their term.

In a move reminiscent of his style, Trump has invited several tech titans to the inauguration, alongside more traditional guests like his cabinet nominees.

Billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg are set to attend, along with Shou Chew, the head of TikTok, as reported by US media.

Trump has sought to strengthen ties with these tech moguls, as his campaign benefited from the spread of information on platforms like TikTok, Musk’s X, and Zuckerberg’s Facebook and Instagram.
