Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives on Friday intercepted an unknown value of marijuana in Nakuru County.
Following a tip off from the public, the sleuths intercepted a “suspicious” Nissan Vanette under registration KBX 684H at Subukia while enroute to Nakuru.

32-year-old Evans Oluoch Rogo, the Nissan’s driver, was arrested. The officers conducted a search in the vehicle where they found nine bales of the drug covered in sacks of hay.

After interrogation, Rogo led the detectives to his counterparts “who were enjoying a cool breeze at Qualit Hotel in the city of Nakuru.”
30-year-old Ali Abdikadir Ali and 28-year-old Ortofa Dida were intercepted and their Toyota Crown Royal Saloon under registration KBZ 861H searched.

The sleuths recovered 36 bales of marijuana weighing 79 kilograms.

Detectives reported the case to the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters in Nakuru. The suspects will remain under police custody pending arraignment on Monday, April 8.
